Hedge trimming & shaping
From formal box and privet to towering leylandii, we trim, reduce and reshape hedges of every kind with the right timing and a clean finish.
A well-kept hedge frames a house. An overgrown one swallows light, blocks paths and upsets neighbours. We cut hedges to a size and shape that suits the space, keeping the faces straight and the tops level, and we time the work around nesting season and the plant's own growth cycle.
Conifers and leylandii that have got too tall can usually be reduced significantly, and we will be honest about how hard a given hedge can be cut without harming it.

Questions we get asked
When is the best time to trim?
Most hedges are best trimmed in late spring and again in late summer. We avoid cutting during the main bird-nesting season (March to August) unless we have checked the hedge is clear.
Can you reduce the height of my conifers?
Yes, within reason. Leylandii will not regrow from old wood, so we reduce them carefully to keep a green face. We will tell you what is achievable when we visit.
